Meter & Service

Metering practice and standards as the meter becomes the data-rich edge of the modern grid.

Areas of focus

What this committee does.

The committee that tracks where metering is going. Metering technology and the standards around it move constantly. Members get early operating experience from peers and a voice on the bodies that set the rules.

The committee studies new metering technology, reports real operating experience with electric metering equipment and systems, and oversees service entrance practice – and holds AEIC’s seats on ANSI, EPRI, UL, and other bodies governing metering safety and standardization.
