Power Delivery subcommittee

Transmission System Operations

Transmission operating practice and reliability. Launched in 2026. Known as TSO.

Areas of focus

What this subcommittee does.

An emerging discussion around the integration of transmission and distribution operations in real-time. Transmission operations are reshaping under large loads, the 765 kV buildout, and inverter-based resources. This is the peer room where operators work through it and founding members help set the direction.

A subcommittee of the Power Delivery Committee, TSO is the peer forum for real-time and near-real-time transmission operations — control-center decision-making, operator tools, event response — and for preparing operators and processes for the emerging environment of large loads, 765 kV, IBR, and FERC Orders 881 and 2222.
