SUBCommittee
Safety Benchmarking
Areas of Focus
Sharing the practices that keep crews safe.
No utility wants to learn a safety lesson the hard way. This subcommittee makes sure members learn from each other’s incidents and programs instead.
What the committee does: A subcommittee of the Power Delivery Committee, Safety Benchmarking is an operational benchmarking forum for work methods, procedures, training, tools, technology, and culture that reduce occupational health and safety risk – coordinating in-depth peer reviews of member safety programs and moving significant-incident information quickly across the network.
Who it’s for: Safety directors, program leads, and operations safety professionals.
Focus area tags: Occupational Safety · Peer Program Reviews · Incident Sharing · Safety Culture
Why get involved:
- Learn from peer utilities’ incidents and programs before you learn the hard way.
- Put your safety program through an in-depth peer review.
- Get significant-incident intelligence fast, across the network.
Members of this Subcommittee include executives (e.g., Director level) from operations functions within AEIC member companies. In addition, the Subcommittee will invite and include safety experts, utility subject matter experts, and experts from other industries or vendors as deemed necessary to enhance learning and information-sharing among members.
